Carmel’s Girls’ Cross Country team competed in the IHSAA Sectional held at Noblesville on Saturday morning. This is one of the most challenging sectionals in Indiana for girls’ cross country, and the ‘Hounds represented well. It was a beautiful day outside if you are a distance runner, and the times backed it up. The Noblesville girls ran a terrific team race resulting in a convincing victory over the rest of the field. The Carmel girls finished in 3rd place and advanced to next week’s Regional meet. Carmel was led by Emily Hand, Lily Rose, Abby Parker, Roni Ledezma, Annie Christie, Madalyn Sailors and Halle Welch.

Coach’s Comments:
Today our girls ran very well and many of them set season and career PRs. The main goal of today was to advance to next week, which we took care of. We were particularly excited for the breakout races by Emily Hand and Lily Rose. It’s also fun to see Abby Parker getting stronger every week. We are looking forward to going back to Noblesville next week to compete for the Regional Championship.
