The freshmen boys basketball team ended the season this past Saturday by capturing the Hamilton County Tournament championship for the third year in a row.

In the semifinal game, the Hounds faced off against Guerin Catholic. Carmel was able to handle the zone defense of the Golden Eagles on the way to a 40-19 victory.

The finals paired the Greyhounds with the Royals of Hamilton Southeastern. Carmel came out of the gates hungry for a wind and were filled with determination and energy. The team got off to a fast start and never looked back. The Hounds played selfless offense, solid defense and were peaking at the right time. The end result gave Carmel a 47-29 victory.

During this tournament run, for the first time ever, all active players were able to see game time in each of the three games.

This is the third Hamilton County Tournament championship in a row for the Greyhounds and the team finished with a 20-3 record.
