The Varsity Hounds played Monday in the MIC Championship at Woodwind Golf Club in Westfield. On a short golf course with strong scoring conditions, the Hounds put up an impressive score of 286, just two over par as a team. The Hounds were second to Center Grove’s team score of 274, an outstanding ten under par.
Senior Sam Booth and junior Owen Sander led the Hounds, both carding season low scores of one under par 70 to tie for fourth place in the event. Senior Shoji Fujita battled to a score of 72 and tied for eighth place in the event. These three Hounds were named All-MIC thanks to their stellar play. Freshman Kent Fujita made his debut in the five man rotation with a score of 74. Sophomore Joe Armfield rounded out the Hounds scoring with 75.
The Varsity Hounds will be in action again on Saturday at the State Preview tournament at Prairie View Golf Club.
