Carmel High School 1st 89

After a one-year hiatus atop the semi-state, the boys cross country team scored 89 points to again win the semi-state championship and advance to the state finals in Terre Haute next week. The title marks the sixth in seven years for the ‘Hounds.

The typical 1-2 punch of freshman Kole Mathison and senior Grant Moon placed sixth and eighth to get out to a good start with seniors Ben Myers and Austin Throckmorton along with junior Hudson Alden rounding out scorers for Carmel. Alden closed the door on the team championship as the top fifth man in the field. Senior Will Murphy and sophomore Charlie Schuman also competed for the ‘Hounds.

Carmel again advances to the state championship where the team has finished in the top two in each of the last seven years.
