The boys cross country placed second in a photo finish at the Noblesville Regional, scoring 58 points to fall one shy of Brebeuf’s 57. The runner-up finish marked the third time in five years that they ‘Hounds ended up second in the regional round.

Senior Grant Moon served as the first Greyhound across the line, finishing fourth in 15:31, the fastest time for a Carmel runner in the last two seasons. Senior Will Murphy continued his late-season surge with a ninth-place finihs in 15:55 for his first ever sub-16:00 race. Senior Ben Myers, junior Hudson Alden and senior Austin Throckmorton rounded out the scoring for the ‘Hounds. Senior Nick Schuster ran a lifetime best of 16:18 to push back scorers for every other competing team.

The ‘Hounds will next compete at the Shelbyville Semi-state, racing for a berth to the IHSAA State Finals in Terre Haute on November 2.
