Greyhounds News · Scholar Athletes for 2020-2021 Announced

IF YOU DID NOT PICK UP YOUR AWARD AND T-SHIRT, STOP BY THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE PRIOR TO THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.

The Scholar Athlete Award was initiated in the spring of 1993. This award is presented to all Carmel High School students who were part of a CHS athletic department team during the 2020-2021 school year who also achieved a 3.7 GPA or better for the first semester of the year.

All honorees will be provided their awards for this accomplishment during a lunch on May 6 and May 7 in the Fieldhouse (enter thru the Freshmen Cafeteria). Pizza and drinks will be served at the luncheon.

In 1998, the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll was added to the program. This award recognizes the varsity athlete with the highest GPA during the competitive season.

In addition, the Carmel High School Athletic Department recognizes Scholar Teams which are teams sponsored by the Athletic Department who achieve an average team GPA of 3.2 or better during their competitive season.

The Greyhound Booster Club provided the funds for the first Scholar Athlete Awards in the Spring of 1993. The Greyhound Booster Club has proudly continued to sponsor and support this awards program which both benefits and motivates our student athletes.
