Boys Varsity/JV Cross Country · Boys Cross Country Advances to State Finals

The boys cross country team advanced to the state finals again with a second place finish at the Shelbyville Semistate. The Greyhounds totaled 75 points, seven behind winner Brebeuf who also won the Noblesville Regional the week prior.

Sophomore Kole Mathison continued his unbeaten season in taking the individual title in 15:18, about five seconds ahead of second place and 18 seconds ahead of third. Senior Jacob Fisher also broke the 16:00 minute barrier in finishing 11th in 15:57 with junior Charlie Schuman also earning all-semistate honors by finishing in the top 20 with his 17th place finish.

Sophomore Charlie Leedke (26th place) and senior Hudson Alden (28th place) rounded out the scoring for Carmel. The ‘Hounds of 2020 scored 14 fewer points and averaged nine seconds faster than the semistate from 2019.
