Greyhounds News · Carmel boys tennis tops Homestead 5-0 in state quarterfinals; Greyhounds to face Jasper in semifinals


CARMEL, Ind. – The Greyhounds (21-0) prevailed in all five positions to defeat Homestead 5-0 on Friday (Oct. 16) in the quarterfinal round of the IHSAA team State Finals.

The other quarterfinal match at Carmel featured Jasper (18-3) who beat Brownsburg 3-2. Homestead ended its season at 17-5, and Brownsburg closed at 15-7.

The other quarterfinal matches took place at Center Grove.  North Central improved to (16-4) by defeating Columbus North 4-1.  No. 5 Munster (19-1) topped No. 7 Center Grove  3-2.  Center Grove finished their season at 18-6, and the Bull Dogs wrapped up their season at 17-2.

The semifinal matches will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 17) at North Central High School.  The top-ranked Greyhounds will face Jasper and North Central play Munster.

The two semifinal winners will play for the team state title at 2 p.m. Saturday at North Central.   Carmel is the four-time defending team state champion. The Greyhounds have won 12 team state titles prior to this season.
